- After four years, the Walker Art Center is no longer hosting its Internet Cat Video Festival. All cat-related memorabilia is being donated to the Minnesota Historical Society.
- The owner of an online makeup shop used her products to turn herself into pop art.

- Tania Bruguera is participating in a talk with CUNY professor of art history Claire Bishop titled “Tania Bruguera: The Artist as Activist” on Thursday, March 17th. It will be held at CUNY Graduate Center’s James Gallery from 6:30-8pm.
- Louise Bourgeois has been called the “reluctant hero of feminist art,” ahead of a new exhibition opening at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao on March 18th.

- Occupy Wall Street co-founder Micah White is speaking at the Strand from 7-8pm tonight, Monday the 14th, to promote his new book, The End of Protest: A New Playbook for Revolution.
- The Met Breuer is opening to the public on Friday, March 18th with two exhibitions: Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible, a selection of unfinished works from the Renaissance to the present, and Nasreen Mohamedi, a monographic exhibition of work by the Indian modernist.

- Yesterday Hauser & Wirth held the grand opening of their first gallery in LA, Hauser Wirth & Schimmel. The inaugural exhibition Revolution in the Making: Abstract Sculpture by Women, 1947 – 2016 includes work by Ruth Asawa, Louise Bourgeois, Eva Hesse, and Liz Larner.
- A collaboration with the British Museum, the exhibition Pharaoh: King of Ancient Egypt opened yesterday at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
- An exhibition celebrating dance is opening on Sunday at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Dance! American Art 1830 – 1960 includes work by John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Isamu Noguchi, and Jasper Johns.
- An immersive exhibition of works by Afghan artists opened last week at the Smithsonian’s Sackler Museum of Asian Art in Washington, DC. Turquoise Mountain: Artists Transforming Afghanistan houses the woodwork, calligraphy, ceramics, jewelry, and textiles of artists revitalizing their nation’s cultural legacy.
