Last week, the Hirshhorn announced it was commissioning Mark Bradford’s largest painting to date. The 400-foot “cyclorama” will be installed along the entire circumference of the museum’s third floor galleries in 2017. “The Smithsonian has opened its archives to Mark for the purpose of this exhibition,” said Hirshhorn director, Melissa Chiu, “and we at the Hirshhorn are eagerly anticipating an installation that will provoke our collective consciousness.” Also this week:
