Cameron Shaw

Contributor
Cameron Shaw is the executive director of Pelican Bomb, a New Orleans–based nonprofit dedicated to supporting and expanding contemporary visual art in the city. She is the founding editor of its online publication of arts writing and criticism and the cofounder of its community-supported arts program, The Drop. She is hard at work on launching a pop-up exhibition program to begin this fall. Shaw was born and raised in Los Angeles, and when she is not focused on New Orleans, she thinks and writes about her hometown and the legacy of West Coast art practices since 1960, especially as they relate to dialogues on feminism and multiculturalism. Shaw was a recipient of a Creative Capital/Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant in 2009, and she graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in the history of art. She is Art21’s writer-in-residence through November 30, 2013.
