Tonight is the night! Our new broadcast season premieres at 9:00 p.m. on PBS with two back-to-back episodes (be sure to check your local listings). Hosted by actress Claire Danes, each episode dives inside the lives of four artists living and working in the cities of Chicago and Mexico City.

Chicago, 9pm

Chicago is a city rooted in industry and towering architecture, and artists in Chicago are disrupting urban experience through experimentation. Directed by MacArthur Foundation Fellow and Peabody Award-winner Stanley Nelson, the Chicago hour features artists Nick Cave, Chris Ware, Barbara Kasten, and Theaster Gates.

Mexico City, 10pm

Mexico City artists exit their homes and studios to use the growing megalopolis as their canvas. The artists present everyday materials as artworks, mine recognizable images for their poetic potential, and take their art to the streets. Mexico City features artists Damián Ortega, Pedro Reyes, Minerva Cuevas, and Natalia Almada, and was directed by three-time Academy Award nominee Deborah Dickson.

Los Angeles and Vancouver premiere next Friday, September 23rd at 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
