Last week it was announced that John Baldessari and Cao Fei are designing the next round of Art Cars for BMW. Cao Fei—the youngest artist to be commissioned for the project, who’s never had a driver’s license or driven a car—told Artsy that the status symbol a car used to represent is changing: “Before, we all thought you had to have a car, that it’s the best…Now, it’s a transition to thinking about the future. It’s different.” Also in the news this week:

- Mary Reid Kelley won the Baloise Art Prize for her film This is Offal, which explores a dialogue between ghosts and their animated organs.
