- America’s first artist-run super PAC For Freedoms is coming to Atlanta next Monday. Founded by visual artists Hank Willis Thomas and Eric Gottesman, the group is comprised of dozens of artists including Edgar Arcenaux, Rashid Johnson, Titus Kaphar, Trevor Paglen, Dread Scott, and Carrie Mae Weems.
- A new documentary, Sky Ladder, celebrating Chinese-born, New York-based artist Cai Guo-Qiang is debuting on Netflix this Friday, October 14th. [Read a review in Entertainment Weekly.]

- LOS ANGELES, CA | Thursday, October 13, 6-8pm—Julie Mehretu is giving a talk at The Broad Museum. She’ll be speaking with UCLA’s Steven Nelson, a specialist on her work.
- ASPEN, CO—This is the last week to see Lynda Benglis’ sculptures at the Aspen Art Museum’s Roof Deck Sculpture Garden. The exhibition is closing this Saturday, October 16.
- NORTH ADAMS, MA—Nick Cave’s exhibition Until opens this Sunday at MASS MoCA. [Read a review in Artnet.]
- CAMBRIDGE, MA— The MIT List Visual Arts Center is opening a solo exhibition of work by Edgar Arcenaoux this Friday. Entitled Written in Smoke and Fire, the show will remain on view through January 8 and features a wide range of the artist’s work.

- BREMEN, GERMANY—Mary Reid Kelley has two shows on view in Europe right now, the first at Kunsthalle Bremen, which is playing her WWI films in the exhibition A Marquee Piece of Sod, on view through January 15.
- LEUVEN, BELGIUM—Kelley’s second European show is on view at Museum Leuven. Her video trilogy about the myth of the minotaur will be playing there through January 8.
- EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND—The Scottish National Portrait Gallery’s exhibition Facing the World, which features self-portraits from Rembrandt to Ai Weiwei, closes this Sunday, October 16. [Read a review in The Creators Project].
