Last week the British Council unveiled Yinka Shonibare MBE (RA)’s first public sculpture in Nigeria. As part of the artist’s first major solo exhibition in the country, Wind Sculpture VI is installed in Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Ikeja, Lagos. The fiberglass sculpture stands nearly 20 feet tall, and is part of the British Council’s UK/Nigeria 2015–16 season, which aims to create new collaborations and strengthen relationships between the two countries.
