Thanks to Seth Curcio for all the great posts. Follow his various projects and musings on DailyServing and Redux Art Center‘s site.
Up next on the guest blog is Kristin Farr, who manages the educational outreach project for Spark and writes reviews for KQED’s Arts & Culture Web site, www.kqed.org/arts. She was formerly an arts specialist for San Francisco schools, and is a practicing artist currently focused on painting. Her work has been shown at the de Young Museum for charitable events and in other alternative art spaces around San Francisco.
Spark is produced by KQED Public Broadcasting in San Francisco. It is a weekly television show, educational outreach program, and Web site featuring established and emerging artists living or working in Northern California. More than a showcase for art objects and the artists who make them, Spark takes the audience inside the creative process to witness the challenges, opportunities and rewards of making art. Over 300 artists have been featured on Spark’s television series including Viola Frey, Andy Goldsworthy, and Art21 artists Richard Serra and Ann Hamilton.
For this year’s NAEA conference, happening in New Orleans March 26-30, Art21 and Spark are curating a contemporary art documentary video salon, featuring our films as well as those of other producers. Art21 will also present several other projects at NAEA. Stay tuned for more details, coming soon!
