After a break up and lawsuit left their relationship in pieces, Marina Abramović and her former partner Ulay publicly reconciled recently at the Louisiana Museum in a new interview. Ulay made an unexpected appearance at a lecture Abramović gave in June, in conjunction with her first major European retrospective, The Cleaner. His appearance resulted in a new film on their relationship by the museum’s Louisiana Channel, exploring what their collaboration meant to the history of performance art.
“All the anger and all the hate” is behind them now, Abramović told the Louisiana Channel. “I think of this life that left this really beautiful work that we left behind, and this is what matters.”

- Work by Pierre Huyghe is featured in the Museum of Contemporary Art’s new exhibition We Are Here, opening this Saturday, August 19. A major three-part exhibition drawn from the museum’s collection, We Are Here declares that art has “the power to change the way that we see the world.” On view through April 1, 2018
Dallas
- This is the last week to see Roni Horn’s solo exhibition at the Nasher Sculpture Center. The first U.S. museum presentation to focus specifically on Horn’s cast glass sculpture, the exhibition closes this Sunday, August 20. [Read a review in Forbes.]

- Wednesday, August 16, 7:30pm—Mark Bradford is speaking with fellow artist Sharon Lockhart at the Orpheum Theatre as part of the Broad’s Un-Private Collection series. Both featured in this year’s Venice Biennale, the artists will discuss their practices’ focus on social justice. Tickets are $15.
London
- Blain|Southern’s new exhibition Playground Structure takes its title from a 2008 photograph by Jeff Wall depicting climbing equipment for kids in a suburban park. Wall’s large-scale photograph is exhibited with paintings by artists Mary Heilmann and Dan Walsh among others. On view through September 16.
Salzburg
- The Museum der Moderne Salzburg is currently exhibiting a comprehensive selection of work by William Kentridge at both of the museum’s venues. Coinciding with the premiere of Kentridge’s opera Wozzeck at the Salzburg Festival (playing through August 27), Thick Time: Installations and Stagings includes eight large-scale multimedia installations at the Mönchsberg location, and posters, drawings, designs, models, and costumes from the artist’s work in theater at the Rupertinum location.
Kyoto, Japan
- Opening this Saturday, the Asia Corridor Contemporary Art Exhibition features work by Cai Guo-Qiang and Kimsooja among others. Taking place at two locations—the Nijo Castle and Kyoto Art Center—the large-scale project showcases work by artists from Japan, China and South Korea, and is on view through October 15.
