Caitlin Cherry

Caitlin Cherry was born in 1987 in Chicago, Illinois and lives and works in New York, New York. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2010 and MFA from Columbia University School of Art in 2012. In 2016, Cherry was awarded with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Fellowship Residency. Her large-scale, vibrant paintings, sculptures and installations explore the representation and visibility of Black female figures through the lens of abstracted contemporary culture and social media.
