Colin Browne

Colin Browne is a poet and filmmaker living in Vancouver. As part of a project entitled “Scavengers of Paradise,” he has been researching the history and legacy of the surrealist fascination with the Indigenous art of the Northwest Coast. His most recent book is The Hatch (Talonbooks, 2015). He is a professor emeritus of the Simon Fraser University School for the Contemporary Arts, and he is the curator of I Had an Interesting French Artist to See Me This Summer: Emily Carr and Wolfgang Paalen in British Columbia, an exhibition at the Vancouver Art Gallery, June 1–November 13, 2016.
