Applications Now Open for Art21 Educators Year 7

Art21 Senior Education Advisor Joe Fusaro welcomes educators to the 2016 Summer Institute in NYC.

Today Art21 is opening applications to Year 7 of our year-long professional development initiative, Art21 Educators. The program is designed to support K-12 educators interested in bringing contemporary art, artists and themes into their classrooms.

Art21 Educators begins with a 6-day summer institute in New York City, and continues throughout the school year with online learning sessions and support from a virtual community.

Educators across all disciplines—not just arts and humanities educators—are invited to apply. By bringing contemporary artistic practices to learning in the math and science realms, we hope to expand application of the arts to encourage critical thinking and creative problem solving in students, regardless of subject matter.

Educators apply individually, and accepted applicants will be paired with an alumni mentor from the program to develop lasting one-on-one relationships committed to expanding artistic practices in classroom environments.

If you’re an educator looking to bring more contemporary art to your classroom, apply today! Applications are open until Monday, March 20, 2017.
